In the novel Murder is Easy, Wonky Pooh is Lavinia Pinkerton's Persian cat. While on a train to London, Lavinia tells Luke Fitzwilliam that she is late coming to London because she had been delayed looking for Wonky Pooh who had gone missing in the morning.

After the death of Lavinia, Honoria Waynflete took over the cat. From the descriptions given in the text, Wonky Pooh is male and is orange in colour.

At the end of the story, Honoria reveals that Wonky Pooh served as the means for killing John Humbleby. Wonky Pooh had a septic ear and she had used pus from the wound to infect the doctor.

In the 2023 BBC adaptation the cat is named Algernon Jones.
