Williams (The Unravelling)

In the authorized continuation short story The Unravelling, Williams is the postman of the village in which Miss Marple lives. His daily rounds allows him to observe everything that is happening and to converse with everyone. He passes all that he picks up to his girlfriend Florence who happens to be Miss Marple's maid. Florence, of course, tells everything to her employer. Through this fairly constant grapevine, Miss Marple got to hear William's first hand account of the altercation between the newly arrived farmhand Martin and the haberdasher Mr Weaver in the village square. The next day Williams also brought news to the Marple household that Martin had been found murdered.
