In the novel Hercule Poirot's Christmas, Westeringham is a constituency. George Lee is the M.P. for Westeringham. At around the time of the murder of Simeon Lee, George Lee had been making a trunk call to his agent at Westeringham on some urgent matters. However police checks showed that the phone call ended at 9.04 pm while the murder took place at 9.15 pm. Therefore the phone call could not provide George with an alibi.
