In the short story The Adventure of Johnnie Waverly, Waverly Court is the dilapidated ancestral home of the Waverly family in Surrey. There is little description of the house in the text beyond it being a fine old house which had recently been tastefully restored. The house however stands on extensive grounds, with two lodges, a south lodge and an east lodge. There is also a public right of way through the estate as well as public access to a chapel on the grounds. According to Marcus Waverly, cars pass through the grounds of the estate quite often, making use of the public right of way, making the property difficult to secure. As an old house, it has a priest hole, accessed from a panel in the hall.
