In the short story The Red Signal, Mrs Violet Eversleigh was a guest at a dinner party at the home of Jack and Claire Trent, alongside Sir Alington West and Dermot West. Unlike the highly scientific Sir Alington, Mrs Eversleigh believed in such things as "a sixth sense", feminine intuition and Dermot West's "red signal" of danger.

In the episode The Red Signal of The Agatha Christie Hour, a TV film adaptation of the story, the part of Violet Eversleigh is played by Carol Drinkwater. Here she also goes to the Grafton Galleries after dinner. She is shown dancing with a (non-canonical) person named Garry Benson.
