In the NHK's anime adaptation The Jewel Robbery at the Grand Metropolitan, Vanessa is the non-canonical name given to the chambermaid serving the room of Mrs Opalsen. Investigations by Poirot showed that she was actually a jewel thief wanted by Scotland Yard and that her real name was "Jane Kianzu" and that she conspired with the valet John to steal Mrs Opalsen's pearls and then frame the maid Celestine. The character was voiced by Michiko Neya. In the original story, the chambermaid was not given a name.
