Tranter

In the novel Mrs McGinty's Dead, Superintendent Spence tells Poirot that in his experience he has come across a number of murder cases which were not so straight-forward. Among the names mentioned was Tranter. Tranter was acquitted although Spence is convinced that he was certainly the murderer and that "he did it all right".
