The Mystery of the Blue Train is a BBC Radio adaptation of the novel with the same name. The adaptation was written by Michael Bakewell and directed by David Johnston. Broadcast between 29 December 1985 and 2 February 1986.

Episode One: Heart of Fire[]

The 'Heart of Fire' is one of the world's legendary jewels which once adorned the crown of the Tsars. But legend has it that it brings death in its wake. Perhaps Mr Van Aldin should have considered that before becoming involved with it!

Episode Two: The Blue Train[]

The Blue Train takes the rich and the famous to their beloved Riviera and is one of the great romantic trains in the world. But on this particular journey it could also be the most exciting and mysterious, for on board are a set of legendary rubies... and the legendary Hercule Poirot!

Episode Three: A Meeting at the Villa Marguerite[]

En route to stay with her cousin, Lady Tamplin, at her luxurious villa on the Riviera, quiet Miss Grey suddenly finds herself involved with a murder mystery and the legendary Hercule Poirot, on board the Blue Train.

Episode Four: Le Comte de la Roche[]

When Ruth Kettering is murdered on the Blue Train and her jewels stolen from her compartment, suspicion falls on her none-too-scrupulous former lover, the Comte de la Roche, who has a weakness for ladies and expensive gems. But to Hercule Poirot nothing is as obvious as it seems.

Episode Five: A Dancer's Revenge[]

When Ruth Kettering is found murdered on the Blue Train and her priceless set of rubies gone, both her husband Derek and her former lover become suspects. And when Hercule Poirot finds the latter has recently acquired a set of rubies, the case would seem to be cut and dried ... or is it?

Episode Six: The Mask of the Marquis[]

'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' is an adage Derek Kettering isn't likely to forget since his snubbed mistress, the tempestuous Mirelle, has denounced him to the police as his wife's murderer! But somehow Hercule Poirot just can't get that mysterious figure 'the Marquis' out of his mind.
