The Man who was Number Four: Further Adventures of M. Poirot is the collective title for a series of 12 short stories written by Agatha Christie and published in The Sketch from Jan - Mar 1924. These were subsequently adapted, with additional text into a novel and published in 1927 as the novel The Big Four. In 2017, these short stories were also published in their original form by HarperCollins as The Big Four (Detective Club Edition).
