In the novel The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, The Larches is a house in King's Abbot. Hercule Poirot moved there, during one of his retirements. Poirot's house was adjacent to the house where Dr Sheppard and his nosy sister Caroline lived.
Hercule Poirot organized a reunion there in which he exposed the murderer of Roger Ackroyd. The people invited to the reunion were:
