In the novel The Pale Horse, the King's Arms is the pub in Much Deeping. Mr Lugg is the landlord. When Mark Easterbrook looked through the visitor's registration book he saw, within the laste year, that people with the names Sandford and Parkinson had stayed there. The names corresponded with names on the list Jim Corrigan had shown him. Mark also saw the name Martin Digby, which is the name of his godmother's great nephew.
