In the novel Dead Man's Folly, much of the plot centres around the Folliat family at Nasse House. The family has lived there at least since the days of Sir Gervase Folliat, a contemporary of Sir Francis Drake. A branch of the family lived in Tiverton.
Old Merdell told Poirot: “There will always be Folliats at Nasse House”.
