The Case of the Perfect Maid is the second in of a series of three radio plays covering Miss Marple's Final Cases launched to mark the 125th anniversary of Agatha Christie's birth. In this series June Whitfield returned to reprise her role of Jane Marple which she undertook in the BBC Radio 4 Miss Marple series from 1993 to 2001. The Case of the Perfect Maid was adapted by Joy Wilkinson and directed by Gemma Jenkins and first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 23 September 2015. It is an adaptation of the Agatha Christie short story of the same name. All three radio plays are available together on audioCD and as audio on Audible and GooglePlay.
According to dramatizer Joy Wilkinson, the three dramatizations in Miss Marple's Final Cases form a story arc intended to Miss Marple's career to a proper closure.
Synopsis[]
Miss Marple uncovers a mystery when she looks into the curious sacking of a lady's maid. Her investigative skills are also required when her nephew, crime writer Raymond West, arrives on the doorstep with a severe case of writer's block.
