The Busbys are a non-canonical couple created for LWT's 1983 TV adaptation of The Clergyman's Daughter. They are a middle-aged couple staying as lodgers in the Red House owned by Monica Deane. They are seen only in flashback during a time when there was a commotion coming from the bedroom of another pair of lodgers, The Cockwells. Mr Busby rushed into the room with Monica Deane and discover that the top of the Cockwell's four poster bed appears to have collapsed, an event which caused Mrs Cockwell to scream in fright. Believing that the house is haunted by poltergeists, the Cockwells leftt the next day. The Busbys are equally spooked and move out at the same time.
Neither Mr nor Mrs Busby is credited. Mr Busby does have a small speaking part when he, on hearing the screams, he asked Monica what is happening.
