In the novel Three Act Tragedy, Temple is Sir Charles Cartwright's parlourmaid. She is about thirty-two years old, and has a certain smartness about her appearance, although she is not pretty.
During the party at Crow's Nest at the beginning of the novel, Temple carries a tray of cocktails, and the guests help themselves to the glasses. She was thus one of the few who have the opportunity to poison the drinks.

Temple is not featured in the Ustinov film Murder in Three Acts (1986). There Violet Milray served the drinks at Crow's Nest.
In the ITV David Suchet episode Three Act Tragedy (2010), there is a parlourmaid serving drinks but she has no lines and the actress who played her is not credited nor is the character addressed by name.
