In Le miroir se brisa, the French TV film adaptation of Agatha Christie's The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side, by France Télévisions, Sylvia Franco is the parallel of Lola Brewster in the original novel. Here she is a young actress working with Blanche Dulac, the Marina Gregg parallel on a film. Sylvia Franco is portrayed by Alice Vial.
Sylvia has a slightly more active role in this adaptation. Here she is not the girlfriend of the producer (the character of Ardwyck Fenn is not featured). Instead, she is having an affair with Marc Borel, the Jason Rudd parallel. Marc is the husband of Blanche as well as the director of the film she is acting in with Blanche. Sylvia wants Marc to divorce Blanche and marry her. This would give her a motive for wanting Blanche dead. When Blanche produces a note threatening her life, commissaire Laurence subjects all suspects to a handwriting test. Sylvia refuses to take the test, thus making her the prime suspect.
Later, Sylvia becomes impatient because Marc is taking too long to divorce Blanche. He wants to finish the film first. Frustrated, she switches a gun she is supposed to use in filming sequence for another one with real ammunition. During the filming, she draws the gun and attempts to shoot Blanche but misses because her hand is shaking too much. Sylvia is then overpowered by the film crew and arrested by the police. Nonetheless, Commissaire Laurence soon concludes that Sylvia did not kill Simone Maupin nor tried to kill Blanche. For one thing, she lacked education and could not spell properly and so could not have written the threatening note sent to Blanche.
What happened to Sylvia at the end is not stated. She is not shown as being released. Presumably she still had a charge of attempted murder to answer for.
