Sonia Armstrong (Née Goldenberg) was the mother of Daisy Armstrong, and the wife of Colonel Armstrong. She was also the daughter of Linda Arden and the sister of Helena Goldenberg.
At the time of Daisy's disappearance Sonia was pregnant with her second child. The shock of the death of her daughter made her go into premature labour, and both she and her baby died.

Sonia Armstrong appears in the 2023 video game Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express.
In this version, the character remains American but her backstory had been expanded to add more detail to the game's plot. On the night her daughter, Daisy, was kidnapped, a then pregnant Sonia, and her husband, John, were hosting a gala at their Massachusettsian home. The joy of the social event held to donate money to a local museum was then overshadowed by Daisy's kidnapping. Soon after, the Armstrongs received Cassetti's ransom which they desperately paid to get Daisy back.

The police, along with Detective Joanna Locke, then interrogated the Armstrongs, their staff, and their gala guests. But Daisy had already been murdered, her untimely death causing Sonia to go into a premature labour, and die giving birth to a stillborn baby. Daisy's nanny, Susanne Moreau, killed herself after being falsely accused of being Cassetti's accomplice. Though neither mentioned nor shown, it is likely that his wife's and children's deaths drove Armstrong to kill himself just like in the novel.
The Armstrong family's and Susanne's untimely deaths then prompted their loved ones to team up and exact vengeance on Cassetti.
Sonia Armstrong is voiced by Bibi Jacob, who also voices Mary Debenham and Greta Ohlsson.
