In the short story Swan Song, Signor Roscari is an opera singer. He was supposed to appear opposite Paula Nazorkoff in Tosca at a performance at the home of Lord and Lady Rustonbury. After he fell ill, poisoned by Madame Nazorkoff to get him out of the way, Edouard Bréon took over the part of Scarpia.
