Sidney Lumet (1924 – 2011) was an American director, producer, and screenwriter with over 50 films to his credit. These included classics such as 12 Angry Men, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon and Network. He was nominated for six Academy Awards, receiving an Honorary Oscar in 2004.
In 1974 he directed Murder on the Orient Express.
