Sarah Phelps is a British television screenwriter. She has adapted several Agatha Christie stories as miniseries for the BBC.
Despite doing well in terms of ratings, her dramatisations have proved controversial among critics, audiences and Christie aficionados alike, owing to their increasingly dark tones and sometimes drastic changes to the source material. Some have appreciated her attempts to take the plots in new and fresh directions, whilst others consider her work exhaustingly bleak and dislike the extensive departures from the original narratives.
