In Un meurtre est-il facile?, the France Télévisions film adaptation of Agatha Christie's Murder is Easy, for the Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie TV series, Sabine Toulemonde is the secretary of Émile Deboucke, the owner of the textile factory where a series of deaths took place.
Sabine discovered the body of Josiane Lallin, the second person to die at the factory. She had been perched on a ladder cleaning windows when the ladder somehow toppled. Sabine subsequently died herself, having been pushed off a balcony at the factory.
Émile Deboucke told commissaire Laurence that he he was somewhat annoyed at Sabine. He described her as a "crier"--she cried easily at everything. This therefore fitted the pattern as the two deaths before her were also of people who offended or annoyed Deboucke. In the case of Sabine, however, viewers were also led to consider another possible motive. Sabine had told Ginette Hansel, a factory worker, that when Michel Loisée (the first death) was killed in the factory stockroom, he was there because he was waiting to meet Émile Deboucke. She might therefore have been a troublesome witness. There is no clear parallel in the original novel.
Sabine was portrayed by Emilie Wiest, who also played Julie Lemon in Crimes haute couture.
