In the novel Sad Cypress, Rose Cottage is the cottage at the end of the village of Maidensford where Nurse Hopkins lives. Mary Gerrard was a regular visitor to the cottage and wrote out her will there. Later Poirot visits Hopkins at the cottage to ask about the truth of Mary's background and Hopkins gives him a letter to Mary from her mother Eliza Gerrard.
Roses feature strongly in the plot but despite its name, this is not the location where the important roses grow.
