In the novel The Body in the Library, Rosamund Gaskell (née Jefferson) was the daughter of Conway and Margaret Jefferson. She was married to Mark and died in a plane crash.
Mark says that Ruby Keene bore a spurious resemblance to Rosamund, in terms of her colouring. He felt that was what had initially attracted Conway Jefferson's attention to Ruby.
Portrayals[]
Rosamund is not featured in BBC 1984 adaptation of the novel as she was already dead at the time of the events in the show.
In the ITV 2004 adaptation of the novel (Episode 1, Season 1 of Agatha Christie's Marple), Rosamund is shown in the first scene, which is a flashback to a dinner party held during the Second World War to celebrate the birthday of Frank Jefferson. However Rosamund does not have a speaking part and the actress who played her is not credited.
