In the short story The Lemesurier Inheritance, Ronald Lemesurier is the elder of two sons of Hugo and Sadie Lemesurier. He is eight years old. He has almost died three times. The first time he almost drowned. The second he almost fell from a window. The third time he got ptomaine poisoning. At the end of the story, Poirot speculates that Ronald might be fathered by Hugo's secretary John Gardiner, considering that both of them had red hair.
