In the short story At the 'Bells and Motley', Captain Richard Harwell married Eleanor Le Couteau. After the honeymoon Captain Harwell disappeared from the inn Bells and Motley, and was never seen again.
Both Richard and Eleanor turned out to be members of criminal the Clondini family. The marriage and the subsequent disappearence of Richard was a cover up to hide their crimes.
