In the short story The Adventure of the Italian Nobleman, Regent's Court was the apartment building in which Count Foscatini had a flat. According to Hastings, Regent's Court was near Regent's Park, "situated just off St John’s Wood Road." The building had only recently been built and "contained the latest service devices." Among these facilities was a lift with a lift attendent (Roberts) and central kitchens located at the top of the building. Residents could order meals from the kitchens and tese were sent down to the residents by means of a service lift.
Regent's Court is believed to be based on the the real life St John's Wood Court.
In the film adaptation of the original story in Series 5 of ITV's Agatha Christie's Poirot, Foscatini lived at Addisland Court, Kensington, an actual buiilding which also served as the filming locatoin. This had the same catering arrangements as Regent's Court but the lift attendant is not featured.
