Reg (Mrs McGinty's Dead)

In the novel Mrs McGinty's Dead, Reg is a boy from Cullavon, a place presum,ably near Broadhinny. According to Mrs Sweetiman, Reg is "a nice young fellow" and he had been going out with Edna, Mrs Sweetiman's assistant. Edna's father approved of the relationship, but Reg is "on the slow side" so Edna later turned her attention to Charlie Masters. On the night of the murder of Laura Upward, Edna had told her father that she was going out to Cullavon to meet Reg when in fact she was going to meet Masters in Broadhinny in a place that made her a potential witness to what happened.
