In the Mademoiselle Mac Ginty est morte, the France Televisions adaptation of Mrs McGinty's Dead, Régine Molon is a resident on the ground floor at 27 Victor Hugo Boulevard, a block of apartments in Lille. All the killings in this adaptation take place in a block of apartments rather than in the village of Broadhinny. Régine Molon is portrayed by Eleanor Joncquez. She does not really have a parallel in the original novel.
Régine served as the primary witness of the first crime. Awakened by a noise at night, she goes into the lobby and saw Robert Vasseur, the James Bentley parallel character, run out of Huguette Mac Ginty's apartment with blood on his hands. She goes into Hugeuette's apartment and discovers her dead on the floor, her throat having been slashed. As the local gossip, she was most knowledgeable about happenings in the apartment block. Through the episode, she continued to furnish commissaire Laurence with background and updates on what is going on in the apartment block. For example she told him the three families that Huguette Mac Ginty did service for as a cleaning lady. She also told Laurence that shortly before she was killed, Huguette had bought a bottle of ink. In some respects, therefore, Régine Molon may be said to have some of the role of Mrs Sweetiman in the original story.
