In Meurtre au Champagne, the Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie adaptation of Sparkling Cyanide, Pierre Tussaud is an actor on the film set shooting a film with Elvire Morenkova. Pierre has a role which does not really have a parallel in the original novel.
When Alice Avril comes to the film set to do a story, Pierre takes a liking to her. He later drags her to dinner at the Hotel Royale, and thus Alice becomes a witness at the first death. After the death of Elvire, the film makers are in a quandary and need to find a replacement quickly. Pierre suggests Alice and thus lands her the lead role in the film.
