- ↑ Some internet resources and book sales listings claim a date of 1937. However this is likely based on the fact that the latest copyright date indicated in the book is that of "Death on the Nile" which is copyright 1937. Unfortunately, Dodd Mead does not print the year of publication of their omnibuses, only the copyright dates of the component novels. Barnard's bibliography in A Talent to Deceive lists the omnibus as published in 1954. The earliest US newspaper reviews and advertisements of this omnibus only begin in 1954. In the absence of other compelling evidence, a date of 1954 is preferred.
