In Pourquoi pas Martin?, the France Télévisions adaptation of Agatha Christie's Why Didn't They Ask Evans? for the TV series Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie, Paulette Tourbier is the parallel character of Amelia Cayman in the original novel. Alice Avril had found a man who died shortly after falling down a cliff. After his picture was published in the newspapers, Paulette came forward and identified him as her brother. Paulette is portrayed in the episode by Laurence Flahault.
Like in the original, Paulette's identification of the man was fraudulent but the police discovered this very quickly. Police records showed that Paulette had no brother. Commissaire Laurence and Alice Avril went to question Paulette at her farmhouse but discovered that she had been murdered, presumably to prevent her from betraying whoever had engaged her for the deception. Fingerprints were taken from her body and these showed that she was a drug trafficker and a member of a drug gang. A drug processing set up was also found in her farm. The drug gang association is also present in Amelia Cayman in the original novel except that she was not killed.
