In the novel Death in the Clouds, Old Johnson is mentioned by Mrs Mitchell. Poirot had been interviewing Henry Mitchell and asked for some background information about his colleague Albert Davis. Did he, for example, have a girl friend? Mrs Mitchell tells Poirot that Davis courts Old Johnson's daughter, who works as a bar maid at the Crown and Feathers.
