Nicolas Chagrin (November 26, 1945 - August 26, 2017) was a British actor. He played Pierre Michel in the 2001 made-for-television version of Murder on the Orient Express.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Chagrin was born in St Pancras, London, in 1945. He was the son of British composer Francis Chagrin, and the younger brother of comedy actor Julian Chagrin.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

In 1980, Chagrin married Liz Astor, Baroness Astor of Hever, better known as Lady Astor.

They settled down in Chelsea, London, and in 1981, their only daughter was born: Natalya Isabel Chagrin. Astor divorced Chagrin not long afterward.

Death[edit | edit source]

Chagrin died at his home in Shaftesbury, Dorset, on August 26, 2017, at the age of 71.
