Nether Mickford

In the novel The Moving Finger, Nether Mickford was the home town of Rose, the cook of the Symmington family. Nether Mickford is located within a reasonable travelling distance from Lymstock and there is regular bus service. On her days off, Rose would take the bus to visit her family there. On the day of the death of Agnes Woddell, Rose had boarded the twenty-thirty bus for Nether Mickford and then returned by the eight-forty bus.
