Murder is Easy is an American film, made by Warner Bros. Television and first broadcast on CBS on 2 Jan 1982. It is adapted from the Agatha Christie novel with the same name and was directed by Claude Waltham with screenplay by Carmen Culver. It stars Bill Bixby as Luke Williams, Lesley-Anne Down as Bridget Conway and Olivia de Havilland as Honoria Waynflete. Future miss Marple actress Helen Hayes appears as Lavinia Fullerton.
The film was the first in a series of eight Christie adaptations from CBS and Warner Bros. Television.
Synopsis[]
An American professor of mathematical probability, Luke Williams, meets an old lady Lavinia Fullerton on a train. She tells him about an uncanny string of deaths in her village and even predicts the next one. The lady herself is soon knocked down by a car. Luke travels to her village where more deaths occur. To him, all this defies the mathematical theory of probability, and he is determined to investigate.
