In the stage play Verdict, Mrs Roper is the housekeeper in the household of Professor Karl Hendryk. Stage directions describe her as "a rather shifty and unpleasant cleaning woman." Mrs Roper saw Lisa Koletzky standing by the dead body of Anya Hendryk holding a pill bottle. Later she saw Karl Hendryk embracing Lisa. Mrs Roper made a statement to the police which led to Lisa's arrest and then became the principal prosecution witness in her subsequent trial.
