In the novel Hallowe'en Party, Mrs Reynolds is a resident of Woodleigh Common and the mother of Ann, Joyce and Leopold. All three of her children attended the halloween party organised by Rowena Drake at Apple Trees.

Poirot and Ariadne Oliver make a call on Mrs Reynolds as part of their investigations into the death by drowning of Joyce Reynolds during the party. Mrs Reynolds tells them that Joyce had never mentioned to her anything about having seen something that could be a murder. She herself could not think of any incident happening at Woodleigh Common which might have constituted the "murder" which Joyce claimed to have seen. She might have been joking or gotten mixed up. But she did not think that seeing a murder would be the kind of topic Joyce would boast about.
