Mrs Pratt

In the novel The Murder at the Vicarage, Mrs Pratt is the cook at Old Hall. Gladys, the kitchenmaid was very reluctant to talk about what she had overheard Colonel Protheroe saying to Mrs Lestrange because Gladys had just stepped out of the house to talk to a friend when she passed by a window and overhead the conversation. If Mrs Pratt were to find out what Gladys had done, she would get into trouble.
