In the short story Sanctuary, Mrs Mundy and her husband live in Laburnum Cottage, in Chipping Cleghorn. They are the carers of a girl called Jill, and they are devoted to her. Mrs Mundy had a stroke about a week before the events of the story, and is about to go into the infirmary, so Bunch had been looking for a good home for Jill.
