In the novel A Caribbean Mystery, Mrs Linnett is remembered by Miss Marple. While Major Palgrave was talking, Miss Marple thought about how there was never anything happening at the Golden Palm Hotel, unlike in St. Mary Mead, where something was always happening and there were many interesting human problems. One of the human problems she remembered was the mistake in old Mrs Linnett's cough mixture.
