In the novella Murder in the Mews, Mrs Hogg was the wife of James Hogg, the chauffeur at 18 Bardsley Mews Gardens. She was one of the witnesses interviewed about the death of Barbara Allen. She told Japp that Barbara and her friend Jane Plenderleith were both well liked. They never quarreled. On the night of her death, she had seen a man with the description of Major Eustace leaving her house at about ten-twenty. There had not been any sounds of a quarrel. She saw Barbara behind the door as the man took his leave but couldn't describe what she wore. She also did not hear what the man said as he left.

Mrs Hogg was not featured in the film adaptation of the story which was episode 2 of series 1 of ITV's Agatha Christie's Poirot drama series.
