Beatie Edney as Mrs Hemming
In the novel The Clocks, Mrs Hemming is the occupant of 20 Wilbraham Crescent. She named her house "Diana Lodge" and lives there alone with some eighteen cats. She was the wife of a local auctioneer.
When Inspector Hardcastle and Colin Lamb question her about whether she noticed anything relating to a dead body being found at the house of her next neighbour Millicent Pebmarsh, Mrs Hemming was too absorbed in looking after her cats to have noticed anything.
