In the novel The Body in the Library, Mrs Chetty is mentioned by Jane Marple. When she saw the "body in the library" for the first time, Miss Marple looked slightly bewildered. When asked, she replied that she was thinking of Mrs Chetty's youngset daughter Edie because she used to bite her nails and her front teeth stuck out too much. To Dolly Bantry, it did not, however, seem like a very hopeful village parallel.
