Mrs Carpenter (A Christmas Tragedy)

In the short story A Christmas Tragedy, old Mrs Carpenter was one of the guests at the Keston Spa Hydro. After the death of two hotel employees, George and Mary, she was sure that there would be a third death at the hotel. She said: "This isn't the end", "Never two without three."
