Mrs Adams

In the novella The Mystery of the Spanish Chest, Mrs Adams was the wife of the local bank manager at the time that Miss Lemon lived in Croydon Heath. There were rumours that Mrs Adams was having an affair with a young artist. Mr Adams shot himself but then Mrs Adams wouldn't marry the artist and he tried to poison himself. Subsequently Mrs Adams married a young solicitor. Margharita Clayton reminded Miss Lemon of Mrs Adams.
