In the novel Hallowe'en Party, Mr Waterhouse is an elderly man living in Medchester. He worked as a seed merchant. His car, a Grasshopper Mark 7, was used to hit Hugo Drake. Since Mr Waterhouse is a slow and careful driver, it was believed that someone had taken his car to run over Mr Drake.
