In the short story Sanctuary, Mr Mundy and his wife live in Laburnum Cottage, in Chipping Cleghorn. They are the carers of a girl called Jill, and they are devoted to her. Mr Mundy has been ill with pneumonia, and is about to go to the infirmary, so Bunch had been trying to find a good home for Jill somewhere.
