Mr Moss is an undertaker in the stage plays Fiddlers Five and Fiddlers Three. Stage directions describe him as "a mournful looking man with black hair and moustache. He is dressed in sombre black and has a deep mourning voice." In the cast, this character and that of Dr Nolan can played by the same person.
Mr Moss is an undertaker who is recommended by Dr Nolan. According to him, Moss and Company is a nice quiet little firm in Chapel Lane, just off Victoria Street. In Act 2 Moss notices irregularities in the funeral arrangements being made for Jonathan Panhacker and comes down to the seaside resort wanting to see Sam Fletcher about it. Moss could have unravelled the entire scheme being worked by the "fiddlers" until but then Sally recognises him as one of her old acquaintances "Holy Joe" from less than respectable days. Moss then agrees to help them bring their fiddle to a satisfactory conclusion and Sally promises him shares in their soon to be successful venture.
