In the novel Hickory Dickory Dock, Mr Endicott is the solicitor of Sir Arthur Stanley. Endicott is the executor of Sir Arthur's will. Before his death, Sir Arthur had also given to him a seal letter to be opened after his death. This contained specific intructions which Endicott was to take concerning Sir Arthur's son Nigel. For more details see the article for Sir Arthur Stanley.
Endicott is an old acquaintance of Poirot. When he greets Poirot, he thanks him for Poirot's help during the "nasty Abernethy business". This could be a reference to the "Abernethies" of After the Funeral, although the solicitor there was Mr Entwhistle. Endicott shows Poirot Sir Arthur's letter when Poirot reconstructs the events at the hostel at Hickory Road, fulfilling the conditions under which the letter should be revealed.
