In the novel Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, Mr Elford from the firm Elford & Leigh was the solicitor who drew up John Savage's will. Although his actions take place "off-stage", Frankie Derwent calls on him and gets him to describe something about the circumstances surrounding the making of the will, how it was signed and so on.

ITV's Agatha Christie's Marple[]
In the ITV's 2008 ITV adaptation, the parallel character is Mr Snape.
Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie[]
In Pourquoi pas Martin?, the France Télévisions adaptation of the novel for the TV series Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie, the parallel of Mr Elford actually has a fair amount of screen time although the character doesn't get a name. He is listed in the credits simply as young lawyer and he is portrayed by Emmanuel Rausenberger. Commissaire Swan Laurence actually interviews him about how the will was made. He says it was his first "will" but that everything was done by the book. Later Laurence shows him a number of photos and asks him to pick out "Mrs Destrange", the supposed sole beneficiary of the will. He picks out Alma Sarrazin.
